Description
Native American, Western United States, Plains Tribes, Lakota (Sioux), ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A beaded child's tunic shirt, the leather panels sewn together at the shoulders, with a neck slit, and the sides are open with cords for tying under the arms. The beads are lane stitched in neat rows, creating geometric motifs that add a decent amount of weight to this garment, and such a piece would be worn during ceremonies or powwows. Size: 14" L x 11.75" W (35.6 cm x 29.8 cm)
