An American Red and Beige Calico Cotton Pieced and Applique Quilt, in the 'Caesar's Crown' Pattern, Circa 1850. Comprising twenty-five hand appliqued blocks framed with a triple sashed border with 'nine patch' corner blocks, hand quilted at 6-7 stitches per inch with leaf motifs to the white ground. Red calico appliqued swag and bow border to four sides. Thin batting and finished with hand sewn edges.

Wear commensurate with age and use. Heavy scattered staining and discolorations throughout. No other observed damage.
