A woman, holding a ball in her stretched arms, she leans back, balancing on her toes. The ball is made from onyx. She stands on a marble pedestal. This is one of the most iconic Art Deco statues, made by Max Le Verrier, designed in 1928.In 1930, he replaced the ball by a lamp and called it 'Clarté'. Three different models posed for this statue, one for the head, another for the torso and the legs are from a dancer of the ballet of Josephine Baker. The statue is signed on the base with M. Le Verrier. Overall excellent original condition, slight wear expected with age.
