First Edition, c. 1870-71 printing ["Hitherto" was published in 1869, "Patience Strong's Outings" appeared as serial in the "Christian Register" 1868 through 1870].Hard boards, original green cloth, gold lettering on front board and spine [a little shelf wear]; 5" x 7.3/4"; yellow color endpapers, name on the front endpaper, wood engraved frontispiece and extra title page are protected by the tissue guard, 348 pages, 4 wood engraved plates, a little soiling, one page corner fold, very good condition.
