Description
19th century. Used in Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. 18" length with wedge section curved blade struck with a cursive maker’s mark (appears Thai), three times. Finely forged with tool finished edge. Butted seam conical socket. Originally mounted on a pole and reportedly used on horseback, it has much in common with the Japanese naginata.
