A Jones Improved Compound Microscope, London, ca. 1795,
Signed on body tube W & S Jones, 30 Holborn London, mounted to a mahogany base with single drawer. Together with accessories as pictured, contained in a pyramidal box.

H: 14 W: 7 1/4 D: 7 in.

From the Estate of John A. Davidson, Jr. Proceeds to benefit the APL of Lorain County and the Dittrick Museum.

Condition

Lacking key and lock mechanism. Plano mirror replaced, concave mirror has pitting and is in poor condition, oxidation to Lieberkuhn objective, crack to top of mahogany case. Wear is consistent with age and use. All lots have imperfections or the effects of aging. Gray's Auctioneers shall have no responsibility for any errors or omissions.
