Anne Andersson (Swedish, 20th Century), an original one-of-a-kind mixed media fiber, rope, and burlap art sculpture. This wild African male lion boasts a magnificent full mane intricately woven with jute. The realism is striking, accentuated with piercing golden glass eyes. The lion is depicted in a languid lying pose, with its long curved tail draping around its outstretched hind legs. Its front paws are draped down, padded, and adorned with faux claws. Reminiscent of the whimsical animal works by Mexican sculptor Mario Lopez Torres, this example exhibits finer details. No apparent signatures or maker's marks; therefore, it is being sold attributed to Anne Anderson. Condition: Good to fair condition having wear to paws, losses and areas with storage wear to roping. Appears to have an added wood base to give support. Estate fresh to the market.
