Description
An 1893 to 1895 stunning brown colored wool outfit with gigot sleeves for cold weather wearing , an ice skating outfit. 2 piece in construction gown with large puffed sleeves trimmed with passementerie trim at cuff. Mostly hand stitched with some machine stitching. A heavy chocolate brown petticoat with a black heavy cotton bottom flounce that comes with this 2 piece outfit for extra warmth.
The bodice is decorated with passementerie around neckline collar, on double collar lapels and on bottom of bodice. Lined with a brown cotton and with 9 fabric covered stays and has a front hook and eye center closures.
The skirt has a full back sweep with passementerie attached above hemline and gathers with cartilage pleats in the back for a nice fall. The skirt is lined with a brown buckram cotton lining.
CONDITION
The outfit is in good condition. Few very small holes scattered about in skirt and bodice. No underarm stains discoloration on outside of bodice, some light discoloration on inside lining only. No repairs. The bodice has light discoloration in color on front lapels.
