Massive accumulation of newspapers and periodicals weighing over 50lbs, approximately 200 issues from at least 24 publishers, encompassing over 200 years of U.S. history starting with six issues of The Connecticut Gazette (1792, 1793) and ending with contemporary issues of The Washington Post & New York Times covering President JFK's assassination and Nixon's resignation. Vast majority of material ranges from 1820's through Civil War. Numerous issues of New York Herald covering Civil War with incredibly detailed maps and illustrated diagrams of troop movements! Other periodicals in quantity include National Intelligencer Extra (1823), Harper's Weekly, Columbian Centinel (1817), Providence Gazette (1822), Church Union (1869), Drafted Men's Advocate (1889), Albion (1829), New-England Galaxy (1823), Rural New Yorker (1855), Daily Graphic (1873), Herald of Progress (1861), New-Hampshire Statesman & Concord Register (1830), New-Hampshire Patriot & State Gazette (1821), Dover Enquirer (1830), Gleason's Weekly (1859), London Times (July-Dec 1834) Illustrated London News (1857), Musical Courier (1898), etc. Numerous historical articles noted throughout. Also includes complete set of 16 of 'The Civil War Through The Camera' published in 1912 by Henry W. Elson, Professor of History. Two volumes have wear, other 14 in very fine condition.
