21" BRU.JNE 7 Bebe. Ca. 1883 - 1889. Brown paper weight eyes, CLOSED mouth, pierced ears, black mohair wig, cork pate. Deep shoulderplate with molded breasts; beautiful gusseted leather body. She has a Chevrote era Bru body-leather over wood upper arms and legs to knees. Painted wooden lower legs, modelled feet. Body has the scalloped edge at the shoulder plate, bisque lower arms with lovely hands. Shoulderplate is marked BRU Jne 7. Rivets at elbows/knees. Body is marked with rectangular paper label - BEBE BRU Bte. S.G.D.G. Tout Contrefacteur sera saist et poursuivi conformement a la Lof. Doll is dressed as a bride in antique clothing. Fitted/ribbed silk satin bodice, silk satin and ruched organdy vertical panels with fine metallic trim. Cotton boned peplum, factory chemise, petticoat and pantaloons. Beige lace socks. French white leather boots read: AU PARADIS DES ENFANTS 156 RUE FIVOLL (with CC in an oval). Vintage cheesecloth veil trimmed with lace and wax orange blossoms. Condition: small flake on upper right eye opening. No other flaws observed in bisque head, shoulderplate or hands. Clothing has some age deterioration on skirt but overall this doll is in beautiful condition! Shipping: $53 plus insurance.
