Indian Head Cent Reverse "Folk Art" Depiction In Wood
c. 1900, Artistic Rendering in Wood of the Reverse an Indian Head Cent, Made by Hand with a Very Fine Saw, Choice Near Mint.
This very unusual, three dimensional, representation in wood of the back of an Indian Head Cent, has the design elements and rim of the coin carved from a sheet of wood, using a very find saw, while the field areas are just empty space. The whole is set against a black cloth background, and framed under glass in a 10.75" square wooden frame. The frame has some scuffs on the corners, and otherwise is in very nice condition. Likely made by a coin collector, this bit of folk art is unsigned and possibly unique.
